She dresses one degree bolder than the setting requires

She can dress for herself and still know exactly who will see it. Those two things are not enemies.
The signal is usually one notch, not a whole costume change. A dress a little sharper than the place calls for. Perfume that stays in the doorway after she passes. Lipstick picked like there might be photos later. The jacket comes off once she is seated. The earrings show every time she turns her head.
None of it has to announce itself. The gamble is whether he notices the extra care and treats it like it was put there on purpose.
Distance keeps shrinking in ways that sound practical

She does not say, “Come closer.” She lets the room provide excuses.
The music is loud, so she leans in. The menu is easier to read from his side, so she moves around the table. Someone needs to slide over, and now her knee is near his chair. One of those means nothing. A few in a row start to look less random.
The part to watch is what happens after the excuse expires. The joke ends, but her shoulder stays close. She hears him fine now, but she does not move back.
