The old version of her stops explaining every bold choice

She used to soften every bold choice before anyone else could touch it. “I almost didn’t wear this.” “It’s probably too much.” “Don’t look at me, I’m overdressed.” She would throw herself under the joke first and let everyone else relax.
Now she walks up, sees the table go quiet, and leaves the quiet alone. No speech about the dress. No apology for the heels. No nervous caption explaining why the photo is different from her usual ones.
She sets down her bag and asks what everyone is drinking. That is the part people do not know what to do with. There is no joke handed to them. They have to sit there and notice.
Mystery appears where insecurity used to be

Before, she explained everything until there was nothing left to wonder about. Why she was late. Why she looked tired. Why she posted one photo and deleted another. Even a delayed reply came with a paragraph, a reason, and usually an apology.
Then the gaps start staying gaps.
A message comes back later with one clean sentence. A “maybe” arrives without five backup explanations. She smiles at a question and does not turn it into a confession. She is still friendly, still in the room, still easy to talk to. She just stops handing over the full map the second someone looks curious.
