The Dress That Broke The Company Slack

There’s a thread on Reddit right now with 47k upvotes and the title is just: “my wife came to my office Christmas party and now HR is involved.” No context. Just that. The comments are a warzone.
Turns out she’d been training five days a week since September and decided the holiday party was her debut. Her husband’s direct report sent a voice memo to his girlfriend about it. The voice memo got forwarded. You can probably guess what happened to the Slack after that.
The CFO Has Not Made Eye Contact Since

Okay so the group chat started with a single message at 11:47pm: “does anyone else need to talk about what just happened.” Fifteen people typing at once. The husband — bless him — is in zero of these threads and has no idea.
She walked in during the CFO’s toast. Mid-sentence. He lost his place, said “uh” three times, and someone’s girlfriend filmed the whole thing on her phone. The clip is currently living on a private Instagram story that has been screenshotted approximately four hundred times. The CFO’s wife was also there. We’ll let you sit with that.
