The Gym Made Things Worse, Actually
There was a brief period where everyone thought the school run drama would die down. It did not. She joined the neighborhood gym. A gym which, within two weeks, had a waitlist for the 7am class that had previously been half-empty for three years.
The trainer posted a story about “great energy in morning sessions lately” and tagged the location. The gym’s Instagram gained 340 followers in 48 hours, which for a 12-machine strip-mall gym is genuinely statistically impossible. Her stepkids are apparently on the swim team now too. Go figure.
The Neighborhood App Is No Longer Safe Either
Nextdoor used to be for lost dogs and passive-aggressive leaf blower posts. Now there’s a 94-comment thread titled “School Pickup Safety Concerns” that is entirely about one thing and zero percent about safety.
Someone posted an anonymous tip suggesting the pickup lane needed “additional traffic management volunteers.” Fourteen men signed up within the hour. The school principal emailed all parents asking them to stop, which somehow made it trend locally on Reddit. The original poster has since deleted their account. The thread is still up.
